nothing.

i'd assume they were a couple and if he was single and interested in me, then he would make a move perhaps.

Who cares about how good looking they are? Is it that important? If you'd been less concerned about trophy hunting, and looked slightly past the pair, you'd have seen the less physically attractive person, sitting on their own (at a stroke this is less problematic then gambling with the couple) and he/she is reading a book and chuckling. Straight away you have someone who's literate and probably has a decent sense of humour, which suggests a decent conversationalist. How f***ing great is that? Go for it, chances are, there's something more enduring in it for you

lol I wouldn't do anything, but stand there I don't have to seek after attention, if the guy wants to talk to me, he comes up to me.
Even if it is his girlfriend.....I had one guy get up from a table, leaving his girlfriend (who when we walked in, they were kissing) and come start talking to me....and the girl got up and left

or you could take the Avril Lavigne approach

The situation (suspense) You are in a caf?. There are
two people not far from you. A man and a women. The one of the two
that interest you is the best looking potential partner you have ever
seen. They do not show in any way if they are together or not. If
they
will leave you risk not to see him/her ever again. And it is
practically a fatal attraction (for not saying "love on first sight).

SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO??
- loose your chance because you do not want to risk to bother a
couple? (But maybe they are brothers or friends)
- you go there and risk.....what is your strategy. And especially:
What is your strategy to get out....if all goes wrong??

Go up to him and say, "I know you, but I'm such an idiot, I fogot your name. I'm terrible with names"...and hope he introduces himself , and then also intoduces his sister who is with him.
