There are many ways to see people for what they are. Proverbs from various countries have been created to better identify them. For example, in Karate a black belt is considered one of the following:

"A black belt is a white belt who never quit."

"A black belt is a white belt who never gave up."

Now, I would like to consider other kinds of people using different proverbs. Let me go first with mine. How could we end this particular proverb of mine.

"An adult is a baby..."

What would come next?

From baby to adult makes me think of time,

so an adult is a baby that has aged.

If you were to start with a "child":
An Adult is a child that has matured.

An adult in the first statement is not necessarily an adult in the second.

C: There are many ways to see people for what they are.

E: Yes…

Note: Many people can see others for what they are (as opposed to what they are pretending to be) but do not see themselves for what they. In my experience (admittedly limited) many (maybe most) do not see themselves for what they really are. We (at least I) tend to look outward not inward.

Proverbs […] have been created to better identify them.

How could we end this particular proverb…

"An adult is a baby who grew up…"

"An oak tree is an acorn...

Erimitus beat me to it, although I'd like to add a word to that...

An adult is a baby who 'finally' grew up.

I know we've all struggled with that humbling ourselves shizzola; but most of us finally do make it.

I never heard this quote below, I take a shot at it.

A stare is a...

reflection of someone looking into your soul or you looking at someone's soul.

or

a stare is a glime of beauty that come out from you or come from outside your soul that touch you.

or

a stare is the eye of the beholder.

or

a stare is a mirror image of your soul.

An adult is a baby who, too frequently, was given responsibilities long before they where mature enough to handle said responsibilities.

There are subconscious programs that run automatically. For example I know how to ride a bike but I am not conscious of what it is that I know. I believe that it would be impossible to function if we were conscious of our automatic programming. You maybe wondering where I am going with this line of thought. I am wondering that too.

The adult is the ego state (of being) that does the reasoning.

Apollo symbolizes the adult and Dionysus symboizes the child.

Apollo reasons

Dionysus is sex drugs and rock and roll and he was turning water into wine long before anyone heard of Jesus.

How we regard others is a factor when choosing a friend or partner.

We have neural networks and some of our neural networks are compatible with the neural networks of some other people.

We choose those who we associate with based (partially) on compatibility.

Regarding others is an important function.

OK... Last post. I promise.

We select those we associate with based (partially) on compatibility.

When we encounter a person who we believe may be compatible there is a subconscious attempt at synchronization. Think of this process as an unconscious interview (we view them they view us).
