Ingredients
1 cup flour (about 90 -100 gm) …Plz. use the same cup for approximations of rest of things.
3/4 cup sugar.
1/2 cup vegetable oil.
1/2 cup milk.
1 egg.
1/2 small spoon baking powder.
1 small spoon essence (vanilla or any suitable edible good smelling material of your likeness).
Utensils
Mettalic pot with lid.
Enough sand to make about 2-inch thickness in pot.
Cake making mold / any suitable small pot for that purpose. (diameter should be less than that of metallic pot)
1 thin wooden stick. (tooth-pick type thing)
Stove etc. (natural gass, electric, …..any)
Procedure
1= Please take a metallic pot of about 1- foot diameter.
2= In it, put clean sand about 2- inches thick. Check the proper level.
3= Place the pot on slow heat / fire. (It is like ‘pre-heating’ the oven ! )
4= Mix flour, baking powder, sugar. (dry mixing)
5= Separeately whisk the egg.
6= Add vegetable oil and whisk more.
7= Add flour/baking powder/sugear mixture (of #4 ) spoon by spoon in oil/egg mixture (of #6) and keep mixing with fork.---Keep adding milk.---- Consistency will be thick.
8= Coat the mold with oil.
9= Pour (with some effort) thick mixture in mold.
10= Place the mold over sand in pot. Lid the pot. Increase heat / flame little bit. MUST NOT BE HIGH. It is slow process.
11= Please check after 15 minute, adjust the heat / flame..--- After 45 minute, cake-baking aroma should be in air. --- Pierce with thin wooden stick, if it comes out clean, cake is ready. Otherwise give some more time.--- It may take 40 to 60- minutes.
12= Close the heat. Let cool. Fan can be used. There may be some effort to take the cake on a plate. If it does not come out easily by putting plate on the mold and turning upside down, do not worry. Take it out in small pieces -- ‘piece of cake’.………. Enjoy.
