How many times would your dog have to bite your child unprovoked until you considered it a dangerous dog,got rid of it...etc?

When I was a lot younger we got a dog and it bit me and/or snapped at me a few times and that was enough for my parents to say absolutely not and gave it back to the Humane Society.

ONCE!
A dog bites, I kill that dog, that way it cannot bite a second time, the end.

It is NOT a hypothetical question to me, I've been there and done that, twice.

How hard of a bite? And is it a puppy? How old was the child & why did it happen. Are things I would consider.

Once with blood, the dog is out. That's a promise...

There are always exceptions, however it's very unlikely they'd be good enough for me to keep the dog.

But without any reason for the biting certainly it'd be gone in an instant.

Well over here we have the SPCA... so i would probably bring it there in the hopes someone will come along willing and able bodied to take the dog... I certainly wouldn't kill it, good lord

Why, so it can bite someone else's child?
Gee, that's clever, I'm sure they'll be simply delighted you passed on a proven dangerous dog to them!

If it was an older child I'd question it. Since it's that baby , it wouldn't matter. And why would you consider giving someone else the problem. . if you can't do the deed your self call animale control . but make it clear the dog harms infants and children .

All people have children to worry about?

Someone may be up for the responsibility of a passive aggressive dog, there is this thing called training, also, it can work wonders.

You know of ANYBODY that lives in a completely child-fee environment? I certainly don't.
You can train a dog till you're blue in the face, but if it is a biter, it still will, that's the nature of the beast, and anybody that denies that simple fact is asking for trouble, IMHO.
We who grow up on the land KNOW dogs, they are a major part of our lives, and we rely on them in many ways. We love them, we treasure good ones, we breed from them, but biters are ALWAYS shot, centuries of experience has taught us that it's the only way to protect ourselves and our children for sure. Modern thinking about dogs is NO rebuttal of all that experience.
