How long from the time you met, to the time you got together?

I'm just curious, how long did you meet to the time you finally got together. I'm talking about something serious, where both are clearly not wanting to just hop into the sack for a one night stand.

Well. I was 15 so....about a year and a half

But if you're talking about rudies in general - he put on the moves at 2 months but it ended up being 3

Don't see how "one night stands" fall with a relationship question - one is your boy/girl friend, the other is someone you meet on a conference or something and very likely won't see again.

Prob between a month and two on serious relationships. This though gets shorter as you get older

I don't know, I'm guessing, trying to pick that defining moment, when it goes from simply getting to know each other, to it being something complete and everything is shared. That is the purpose of this thread. There have been too many times, where people are screwing up the timing, too fast, too slow, etc. and finding that middle ground, where it's all right is what I'm trying to extrapolate here.

I met my husband 19 years and two months before I actually realized we were meant to be together . After that it took me a few months to actually get to know him again . I made a five hour move back to my hometown and was here three months before we ever slept together. Now we're married and he's my soul mate . We've had our ups and downs but the ups outweigh the downs.

Well for me, it was a matter of weeks, as the feelings were mutual, and very powerful..

I'd suggest for a lasting relationship though, getting to know one another as good as you can first, then acting on those feelings.
That is, 'if' it's someone you are thinking of becoming serious with.

I believe then, when you do come together, it is that much more 'special'...and there will be feelings of 'trust'..which are important, especially for a girl at her first time.

It just happened.. And it was weird, I was being everything he hated in a person, yet something told him to talk to me, that'd I'd make him very happy in the long run.. I was defensive and rude at first.. then I became his friend, I don't know when it officially turned into more.. He'll always be my friend, my shoulder, my rock, my comfort.
