Bannana: The victim questions why they are here in the first place
and where 'here' is...

Given: 'Here' is wherever you happen to be. Where ever you go; there you are.

" here " is the moment, where ever you go is the future, and there you are is the moment and your designation, you reach.

the moment is your future until you reach your designation, and there you are!

Question: Why do sentient entities exist?

Answer: Hmmm.

Erimitus: I exist. This is a first principle. It is a complete certainty. I Am that I Am.

Erimitus: I experience. This is a first principle. It is a complete certainty.

A first principle (in this context) is basic, foundational and self-evident.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that link between hurting people and killing people occurs when one or more of the "people" dies.

Brain activity and consciousness are related.

Brain activity creates conscious experience.

Brain activity IS conscious experience.

Well given the limitations of what our current existence allows us to know but it's quite obvious that anywhere we go is, in some manner,
fictional and that fiction not our own design.

Thanks for all the replies. They offer much food for thought and I will certainly take time to examine them more thoroughly.

Now, I'd like to try to give an example of how killing people and hurting them can become linked. I have read of cases in the news when a woman is sexually assaulted and then killed. How does the first bring act trigger the second?

the woman is the victim, and well as the witness of the crime.

she can't live without the chance that she can indentify the accuser.

i was remember the movie, " the boston strangler ", which tony curtis had random or opportunity with his victims.

the victim had choice to let him in or not.

interesting part, how easy was for tony to have permission from the victim to enter their apartment.

tony wait out to have someone, who need something to fix in their apartments. then tony could take his time in killing them.

i guess irony, of the boston strangler, that now, when you have professional worker come to home or dwelling. they need to be certified.

I've heard of this and I would like to understand it better. Why does hurting someone lead to the victim's death?

It depends on how you hurt them I suppose. My preferred method of hurting people is a slight nick to the jugular, then tying them upside down with a saline solution being fed to them intravenously. This hurts them and leads to death. Eventually.

I think when a man sexual assault a woman, depending on his needs.

I there is a difference between some man, who force himself on a woman, not try to hurt her. he misread her, she telling him, " no! ". he realizes that he make a mistake and get off her before or after he assaults her.

or during or after the assault, the guilty of a shame what he did, or even the humility, could drive him to kill her.

but a serial killer, that sexual assaults women and then kills them. isn't concerns about humility or remorse about what he did or what people might think him.

I think a serial killer is sociopath has no remorse for his dirty deed or killing her. not even he need to for the hunt of his victim and attack and killing her.

he simply like to do it.

What about torturing someone to death? What creates the need to hurt and then kill someone using this method? I have also heard references to this as well.
