Before cooking wash the rice 3-4 times, basically until the water stops becoming cloudy. You are in fact washing out the starch which makes the rice sticky/stodgy.

You can put a drizzle of olive oil in when cooking but butter is prefered.Once again as stated above try not to stir the rice.

I always rinse the cooked rice with cold water. Then pour boiling water over it from the kettle. It never sticks or goes mushy.

If you rinse rice before or after cooking it, you remove most of the vitamins. Companies spray rice with B vitamins after they husk it, because the vitamins that naturally occur in rice are mostly in the husks..

So, don't rinse it, or you're losing more than the starchiness..

The other alternative is to eat brown rice, but I personally can't stand the texture.

Do not, repeat, DO NOT boil the rice! Get the water to a rolling boil FIRST, then add the rice and immediately remove from heat, stirring the rice until the pot cools a little so the it doesn't stick to the pot. Cover and wait. Rice must be steamed and NEVER EVER EVER boiled.

So, in summary: NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER boil rice.

Will it eat my stomach from the inside if I do?

Actually I find that this is good advice, it's what I usually do.

This sounds yummy! The next time I make rice I'm going to try this method.

I live on rice, and learned a secret early that works great.

I start by putting the pot on high heat, and tossing in a generous pat of butter..

As soon as the butter is melted and starts to bubble, I toss in a cup of rice, and stir it until all the rice grains are well coated with the butter, and just barely start to turn golden brown.. (about a minute on high heat)

I then pour in two cups of water, stir the rice one time to make sure that none is stuck to the bottom of the pot, cover, drop the heat to a simmer, and wait 20 minutes.

Perfect rice, doesn't stick, and no need to rinse.
