I recently purchased a new PC with Windows 7. I wanted to make a Print Screen by clicking Print Screen, Start, All Programs, Accessories, Paint, but when I tried to click Edit there was No Edit so I could go no further. I am computer dumb and would appreciate it if someone would take me step-by-step on how to make a Screen Shot when there is No Edit.

Isn't there a paste button on the big ribbon menu?

Also windows 7 has the snip tool function that is way easier to take a print screen without having to use paint. Which is how I snipped that image in my post.

Yes, there is a Paste Button but I was taught you had to click Edit BEFORE clicking Paste.

I never heard of the Snip Tool Function. Where is it and how does it work?

Yeah, you only had to click edit first so you could see the paste. When they redesigned windows, the swtiched to the ribbon menu, to eliminate a lot of the clicking and get right to what you wanted. Which is great once you are used to it, but in reality you spend a lot of time re-learning where things are now.

The snip tool should be in your start up menu, under accessories, Once you use it a lot, the computer will remember you like to use it it, and it will just be there in the start up menu, and you won't have to go to "accessories".

The icon looks like scissors with a red circle.

then you can highlight the whole screen for a screen shot, or just the part you want, then you can save it direct as an image, without having to use paint, like you did with the printscreen button.

Here is a link to how to use the snipping tool.
They have a video better than I could explain it.

Thank you and especially for the link that shows a video of how to use the snipping tool. I really don't use a Screen Shot very often but I wanted to know just in case. Thanks again.
