seen these two on dvd this week

anyone else seen them?

is it just me or is horror today all about the horror within our everyday lives (you know, no more Freddy or Jason - it's not the extreme maniac anymore, it's the guy down the road, the doctor at the clinic, the mechanic in the yard)

nuclear fall-out mutations and massive cities of underground torture chambers - we buying this?

I heard that Hostel was a completely pointless movie just filled with blood.

Why watch something that doesnt have a point.

yeah, seemed a bit that way - just an excuse to show in graphic detail some utterly unpleasant bastards doing some utterly unpleasant stuff

i recall the original hills have eyes and havent seen the new one. i prefer the more supernatural stuff vampires werewolves. i really enjoyed freddy v jason and some of the freddy films were excellent. for a good comedy horror i'd recommend dog soldiers which is a few years old now i also really enjoyed land of the dead this year.

The best modern horror movies out are probably the Saw series.
I really like the deathtraps in it and i love the storyline. It's always got some mega twist at the end too.

I liked Hostel, i thought it was quite good, could see the end coming 5 mintues into the movie but i still thought it was ok. Not seen the new Hills have eyes but i did like the original. Anyone seen the new Wicker man yet?

nope not seen the new wicker man. i suppose ive just seen too many stalk and slash movies give me monsters and big guns like starship troopers or alien (but not alien 3 that was pants) not sure if it would be called horror but i really loved all 3 blade movies and i cant wait for ghost rider to come out next year (with nic cage) and dog soldiers 2 but ive been waiting for that for ages and fear after how good the first one was the 2nd might be a turkey. for a silly old horror film check out shocker by wes craven similar to nightmare on elm street but worth a watch

I want to see the hills have eyes. I have heard it was good but had a bad ending to it.

hey mina - nice bike

yeah, "hills" is left kinda unresolved - the ones who get away get away but there are a few loose ends - space for a sequel?

I was hoping it would be more about the people in the hills - had this idea it was a kind of paranormal/psychic thing? No luck!

Well I didnt mind either of these movies however Hostel did seem to go for the gore for the sake of gore if you ask me. I think they are trying to make these movies to make you think, "well you know there is a remote chance that could happen!"

They day they make one about a call centre staffer who comes back from the dead and kills the team leader I am out'a here!

Both "Hills" movies are quite tame, Saw has them beat!
