Hey, I got a problem with my Action Replay cheat codes on Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Before I break it down, my AR's version is 5.4. And it looks like this:

Now, with that said, it's time. Any code I tried, like infinite money, pokeballs, infinite catch rate, wild pokemon modifier, etc. It gave me question marks in my bag, and also crashed the game every time I opened up my TM Case. I had this problem twice each game. I tried the codes before I battled Brock. When I opened up the TM Case, it crashes. I tried the second time. After I beat Brock, I tried the codes again, and guess what when I opened the TM Case...ZZZZZZZHHHHHHH!!! I'm at loss, can someone help me get infinite items, infinite catch rate, wild pokemon modifier, max money, and even all TMs and HMs WITHOUT this kind of problem?! If you do, please post. I would appreciate some help!

You probably put one or more codes in wrong. Maybe even the Master code. Double-check that all the codes are accurate and they should work.

Yes, I DID double-check since this morning. (Yes, I FINALLY got to it after like a year!) I double-checked the Master Code and is STILL correct. I even deleted and added the same other codes (infinite money, all TMs and HMs, infinite catch rate, all Poke balls, etc.) and double-checked (every one were correct.) And, jeez, I STILL have the same problem! Is there anyone who already had a solution to the same problem? I'm open for suggestions.

And I did use those codes after obtaining a TM Case and Boulder Badge after defeating Brock.

Can someone PLEASE give me a tip on fixing that TM cheat problem, so that it doesn't crash again every time I use a cheat code anytime?!? (Does this apply for the Berry Pouch too?)

It's kind of hard to know what you did and how so I'm just going to list a bunch of 'typical' problems that come up with cheat engines in general. If none of these work, it will probably become increasingly difficult to figure out what the problem is.

Discounting input error, there might be several things you could check or try.

First, while it might seem condescending to say this, cheat codes typically only work on a region and version basis. For instance, AR codes for the Japanese 1.0 version of Fire Red and Leaf Green will typically be different for the ones in NTSC 1.1 or PAL 1.0. This means they typically will not work if you try to use a JAP code on a NTSC game. Simple, and possibly condescending, thing to suggest to check, but it never hurts to be sure that your codes are for the version of the game you have.

Second, some codes are unable to both run at the same time. For instance, some item generation codes might overwrite other item generation codes and result in odd happenings. Experience and money gain is another typical offender. In some cases, forcing a cheat engine to run both might even crash your system. When having problems, it might be a good idea to run each code in isolation and check them systematically, rather than running them all at once. Again, don't know if you already tried this or not but it doesn't hurt to mention it.

Third, some codes are just bad codes and don't work. If you got them all from the same place, some might work and others might not. In some cases they might all fail. Whatever's the case, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a second (or even third) set of codes and see if they work instead.

I FINALLY DID IT! I found a way to fix my TM problem (after those years): I selected the ALL TMs and HMs code (other codes like infinite money, all pokeballs, etc. are optinonal), the VERY FIRST thing I do after the game starts is I deactivate the codes without going to bag yet, then I go to bag after I deactivate the codes, go to TM case, and guess what: I got all 7 HMs and 99 each of ALL 50 TMs! I was so relieved! It worked on both Fire Red and Leaf Green. I don't know what to say, I got mixed feelings about it. Happy deactivating the codes worked, but I'm embarrassed that it was this simple (and I mean simple) the whole time! But I got what I needed, all that matters. BTW, the deactivated codes help me throw away a number of duplicated items I don't need (ones with question marks).

And now, to address problem #2: the infinite catch rate code. It worked on my Leaf Green, but it won't work on my Fire Red for some odd reason. I typed the codes correctly (master code too). I deleted the game from Action Replay, and renaming it v2, typed in the same codes correctly. The other codes worked, but the infinite catch rate didn't. Any idea what's going on?
