Matthew 10

37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

So what is your motivation? To serve or be served?

Well is the story of Abraham true or not?

And if you really look at what God did for us...should we not also be ready to do the same for him?

Here is my position.

When god comes down here and stands beside me during a category 4 hurricane, then helps me clean the s*** up afterwords, then stands by my side and helps work a chainsaw, cut and hump pieces of an oak tree off of my neighbors car and house, then continues to help me and other neighbors for the next week...

Or when god does any one of a hundred if not a thousand other things that my sons have done for me, our family, our friends and neighbors...

On that day god will have my respect... but he is not getting the love I have for my sons.

Actually the story goes that he allowed "us" to kill his son... he allowed his son to be "sacrificed"... new covenant and all that...

I view that as an absurd piece of mythology, that was essentially added to the Jesus story by the Emperor Constantine and his early christian church leader cronies.
