Hard drive: help needed

Yesterday I bought a 1TB GoFlex Desk Drive, I want to hook it up to my PS3 for music and whatever. Thing, it uses NTFS , PS3 uses Fat32. So I figure that I'll just set about re-formatting it, I download the Swissknife program and follow all the steps, the program tells me that the drive is formatted for Fat32. The problem is, now the damn thing wont show up on either the PS3 or the laptop so I cant fix whatever the hell has gone wrong.

Barring returning it, does anyone have any ideas?

I get the feeling it is there it's just not been assigned a drive letter or something and isn't showing up for that reason.

Check it out in disk management, from there i won't be all that much help though tbh, but maybe there's an option in there for it idk.

I managed to get the laptop to recognise it, I just formatted it again. So now the files are in Fat32 but the PS3 still wont recognise the damn thing.

simple,(1)just return to the store for the replacement or warranty.i think goflex is 5 yrs warranty..(2).also check the cable of ur hdd or changed it.
