So, I'm helping my sister to make a purse.

We're halfway through.

Her sewing machine won't sew right.

It seems that something is catching somewhere in the hook.

I took the bobbin, the bobbin case, and the hook out and cleaned and lubricated according to the manual. It still won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas??

That doesn't sound like a lube problem to me. If something is catching somewhere that isn't suppose to it might be a misalignment of one part or another. I'm no expert on sewing machines but it could have been bumped or shaken or nudge a little too hard at some point wherever it was kept.
