Do you think guns should be legal, or illegal?

Does recent school shootings change your perspective at all?

Americans have the right to own a gun, is this right, or wrong?

Whats your thoughts?

one reason americans want some guns (shotguns and rifles)

is for hunting and protection from criminals

another is that if something happens

and insurgents start showing up

we can defend ourselves

the right to bear arms is just after the right to free speech and expression

the bill of rights is in the constitution

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the
people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Maybe that's why the insurgents arrived in jet passenger aircraft.

But the Gun lobby is too powerful in the US for there ever to be any hope of common sense prevailing.

my opinion is that guns should be legal...i say this because my mum and brother own guns and shoot for the county and the city(shoot targets)

i believe that there should be stricter laws on guns though and longersentences for people in possesion of weapons without the right licences or who are using weapons in the wrong way

The thing is remember the Dunblaine shooting?

The guy who shot the kids, and himself, that day had permission to own guns. He passed all the safety tests and whatever else.

It only takes one madman for a tragedy to happen. Is it really acceptable for people to use something for sport, while there is still a risk a gun will find its way into a madmans hand?

With the assistance of guns, and without the guns those that died would not have died, therefor guns kill people.

jmo "In your opinion will guns ever be banned, or partially banned, in America?"

i lived in san francisco until 2005

in the mission district

to possess a handgun there, is illegal

but the homeboys of mara salvatrucha 13 (latin gang ms 13)

have and carry them, i saw some guns in the 13 years i was there

other than police, it was the gangsters that have and use them

so, there are already local and state laws controlling guns

enforcement is the difficult part, the jails and prisons are not vacant

the gun lobby is powerful, but corruption in that area is being investigated

and prosecuted to one degree or another

when i walked around the mission deluxe neighborhood, in sf

i was in a constant state of hypervigilance, as you might imagine

some of the bad gangsters didn't much like me, others liked me

because i acknowledged their presence and didn't avoid eye contact

having a 110 lb mastif at your side helps keep the bad boys away, a little
