Taking away guns from people who could be a danger to themselves or to others is not a bad idea. However, who makes the determination? The Red Flag Laws are used to confiscate weapons and make arrests without due process. If I am assuming the group called "The Base" are exactly what the FBI tells me they are then I am putting my trust in the FBI and the press.

The Red Flag laws then become a way to remove people from society without anyone thinking it is wrong. What if these guys are actually members of Anonymous? What if they are guys that have information that could damage the government or some wealthy banker? I don't know who these "Base" guys are but I know they haven't lied to me, of course they've never had the chance.

And the bit about Janet Reno, I remember hearing somewhere she basically was chased out of her own office and gladly left because she didn't want to be held responsible for whatever was going to happen.
