Quote:
FAMILIES who create the most household rubbish will pay extra to have it removed under proposals being considered by the Government.

A litter tax would be levied of between 25p and 50p a kilo, or around ?10 a month for the average family.

Sir Michael Lyons, who is carrying out a review of council tax, claimed new charges are vital to improve local services.

More tax!!!! is just and right, should those have to pay more on top of already rising and crippling council tax? is the UK rapidly become a excessively tax reliant country?

Typical of you bastards in high paid job. Take ?20 an be dam glad of it.

In Ireland they brought in a plastic bag tax of 15cent per bag. In the very first week they saved 40,000 tons of plastic waste. Now I agree with that sort of tax. One you don't pay becasue I never accept a plastic bag, or reuse a bag I already have, or even take a cardboard box from the shop to put my goods in.

they'd only find away to tax the ?50 as well m8 but it's getting mental, if they aren't putting an existing tax up higher they are talking about inventing new ones. how many taxes are in this country, i'll try to list them but no doubt i will forget some so feel free to add any

1. income tax
2. council tax
3. Value added tax [VAT or sales tax]
4. fuel tax
5. national insurance
6. tv license
7. road tax

is that it?
