It is true that the big bang created the universe but we have to acknowledge and understand what caused the big bang. It was a reaction of various gases and chemicals that caused the big bang but again who and what created the those gases and chemical, will what thing comes in mind GOD...

Another attempt to acquaint Faith and science. 8)

Shall we skip the next bit and move on to Intelligent Design?

Neither religion or science has actually figured this out yet so the cause of the universe is going to stay a mystery for a little while longer. I've got my money on God too though

I hope that it is a compassionate being, that has created the universe. Considering that everytime I bet I lose, I for one am not going to bet on it.

Would you care to back your claims up with factual evidence then?

Actually, religion hasn't figured anything out ever (aside from how to control stupid people). The answers to how everything came to be essentially have to remain unknown. If you cannot accept that we cannot know some things you are a sorry example.

Why do you need to know how God came to be? maybe what you think Gos is, is actually nowhere near the mark, he/she/it could be anything. If you believe that God is there, then be content with that.

So in other words we shouldn't even conclude that God is the beginning? That our eyes were bigger than our stomachs? And no one is ever going to stop trying to figure out how we got here, that particle collider thing is just one example of that.

The LHC isn't about the origins of life or anything. It's about what the universe is made of. Which theory about what happened after the big bang fits the new evidence. And of course, finding the Higgs Boson particle, which is important for finding a theory which binds together all the known forces in the universe. There's nothing about the origins of life there at all and nothing about how "we" got here.
