So my internet light on my modem keeps going off or turning from green to red. And I've been having trouble getting and staying connected all night. I've checked the plugs, I keep turning it off and back on. I've shut off the computer twice. But it's still unstable. Any ideas?

That happens to me sometimes and the only think I have found that works is to wait it out.

Or do what my hubby does; call the company, and holler at them..tell them if they don't have it up and running SOON, you will switch carriers..
it usually takes all of 10 minutes, tops, for them to get it back running properly.

What kind of modem?

If it's a DSL or DSL-to-wireless router it may be the firmware on the device itself. Which I hope it's not because that's a PITA to update.

If it is ADSL, try replacing micro filter (i.e. ADSL is the internet connection that comes from the phone, as if you didn't know that)

I have the same issue, my modem just decides to not work every so often. We've phoned our ISP but the only thing we've been told to do is wait until it comes back on

We had to wait for 3 weeks not too long ago.

I think it's just DSL. It's not Dial Up.

That used to happen to me, every time i tried to login to Yahoo and every time some one used the phone. the solution was to replace the phone. Im sorry i dont have any other solutions.
