I had been concerned lately, because I thought someone was steeling my mail. Because that can be used as identification. So, worried about my credit score, I went to freecreditreport.com to see how it was.
Well, a few weeks later my boyfriend saw this article about an impending lawsuit on them because in FINE print, they sign you up for an automatic withdrawal from your bank about for 15 dollars each month.
Sure enough, I checked my account and had an impending transaction from freecreditreport.com

So, i've been on hold with my bank. Apparently, I have to call fcr.com and see if they will cancel it. If they won't I can file a claim.

So, first thing tomorrow I'm calling them and telling them if they don't cancel the transaction and that account I'm going to file a claim and report them to the Attorney General.

I'm so pissed I can't even see straight.
And I'm chain smoking.

try AnnualCreditReport.com

It really is free (but don't sign up for any of the offers at the credit bureaus).

Which bank do you have your check card with?
Some banks offer free 1 year or free lifetime basic credit reports. Check with them too.

For myself, I use myfico.com. Not free but you have an option to pay one time or recurring, basing on features and packages.

It's better off to start the claims too. Some banks take 3 months. freecreditreport have tiny print saying about monthly charges and likely to deny you.
