It's just to make TFS more personal. People can see what interests them and what doens't, and can alter the home page based on what they want to see. The TFS + threads are really just a way for us to have fun and do what we like, as long as we know how to deal with it. If you don't like it, don't sign up.
The forum is simple and clear, and members do post thoughts and comments. TFS+ gives them more room to do so and blocking forums enables us to get straight to what we like.
