I think Obama won. He kept cool when McCain looked like a vain in his forehead was going to burst. Obama was polite (some say too polite) and actually answered the questions. McCain talked down to Obama and in essence the people. His policies still seem too close to the current administration to me. Oh well, looking forward to the other debates soon!

The condescending tone of McCain and the way he constantly put down and attacked Obama was, IMO, highly unprofessional and just made him seem like an enormous a*****e more than anything.

The fact that he's been around longer and is more experienced came through in the arguments just fine without him having to be so unprofessional about it.

i think mccain won.
obama does know more than i thought.
and he was too polite.
he should have been more aggressive.
he did stutter.
but all in all, it was refreshingly humorous, imo.
mccain did not talk down to obamas 'people'. that is ludicrous.

Obama was much more intellectually honest. He agreed that McCain made good points when he made good points. McCain was a real attack dog here and spent every other minute saying Obama is wrong about everything and doesn't understand anything.

See, the thing with politeness and intellectual honesty is that it doesn't work very well in a debate. But being a President is not about how well you can debate an adversary. It's about judgment and coming to consensus and agreement.

"Condescending". Yes! That's the word I was looking for! What can I say, it's less than an hour until tomorrow. I'm tired.
