If you found a wallet with $300 in it--would you mail back the wallet to the owner minus the cash--etc

im afraid i would be honest and send it back fully intact. As you never know if that is all the money they have!
And thats what i would want to happen if i lost my purse.I would hope someone would return it not just because of money but also personnel things.

As a child out on the park my sisters and myself did find a wallet and took it straight up to police station and handed it in. We got a lovely thank you letter back and a small reward. Which was really nice and we felt good about what we did. Not nearly enough honest people out there.

I'd give it into the nearest Police station with all of the money inside it.

I'd give it back with the cash. Once, years ago I found a wallet on the ground. It had no money in it. I returned it. The guy thought I was the one who took the cash outa it. Pissed me off.

I would turn it in with the money. The money could represent a lot of things, like some kid's Christmas presents.

Although it would be tempting to take the money you have to put yourself in thier position and i wouldn't want to lose any money so i'd definatley hand it in to the police.

One time i was at the station and a lady got on the train and left her purse behind on the bench. She yelled out "my bag" and pointed at it. So i picked up the bag and drove to the next station. There was no ID in there at all.

I went to the office and handed it into a rail worker. He opened the purse and said. "There is no money in it" so i said "yes, there is £100 tucked away in the side" so he found it, put the £100 in his pocket and tossed the purse in the bin.

I reported it but i never heard what happened.

I would return the money as I believe in Karma. I received a $500 check in the mail. The address on the envelope was mine. The only difference was the middle initial. I called the number on the check and left a message. No one returned my call and I didn't know what to do since the check was from out of state. I kept the money. The man finally called back. His daughter lived in the same city. She had the same first and last name. She called me and I told her she could come get the money. I know I did the right thing. The money was a gift for her. The people I worked with told me I should just pocket the money and leave it at that. I wouldn't want someone to do that to me. What goes around comes around.
