I had to read Jane Eyre for sophomore English in high school, and I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the book. That semester we also read Lord of the Flies, which I also loved. In a fantasy literature class I had, we got to read Good Omens, a remarkable book. Very funny, great story. I've enjoyed most of the assigned books. Most though, is not all.

Boo to . . . wait, I can't even think of one. Wow. That completely blew up in my face.

Shaggs. . . Jane Eyre sucked. . . Lord of the flies was pretty good, but GOOD OMENS ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Where is the flaming sword that was given unto thee?" -God. Mr. Davis is awesome. . . too bad they've quarantined him from the Seniors this year. . . glad I'm not there or I would be pis-sed. Anyway, another good book is Almost Human. . . and The Once and Future King by T.H. White (I think I might just be retarded on this one. . . but I love Arthurian legend

Professor Xavier taught The Once and Future King to his students at the end of X-Men II . . .

And yeah, Good Omens was good, as well as Lord of the Flies, but I did like Jane Eyre. It was good, at least to me.

I had/got to read A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving last year, and I loved it. Better than Good Omens. In it, there is a character who stays a virgin throughout his entire life . . . made me feel better about myself. Still, he kissed people. I'll probably beat him there.

Are you saying that kissing is considered kissing with tongue? Cause you've kissed me before. . . no tongue action though. . . anyway. . . BETTER THAN GOOD OMENS???????? GIVE IT TO US!!!

Kisses on the cheek don't count . . .

And it is better, with a lot of funny parts yet with religious thoughts (not preaching Christianity . . . almost the opposite sometimes). Makes you cry and think . . . a wonderful book.

No retort for my kissing statement?

I liked Return of the Native, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Flies and The Great Gatsby. F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Golding were good.

I loved Lord of the Flies... but An American Childhood by Dillard and The Shipping News by Proulx were probably my favorites.

I've never read Shipping News, but I've heard good things about it. I'll check it out if I have the time!

Lord of the Flies was awesome! I had forgotten about that book! I would say that one is my favorite. There are a bunch of others I really loved, too...but now I can't think of any other than Lord of the Flies....

8th grade English we read a book named The Wave.

And last year, we read To Kill a Mockingbird and Black Like Me. Both were really good.
