I'm reminded of a news story that was well-reported some years back. A guy took his car to a garage because he was concerned about a rumbling noise coming from the rear whenever he went round a corner. The mechanic took the car for a test drive, came back, opened the boot, removed the bowling ball and presented the customer with a £100 bill.
