My mother told me she refuses to listen to Frank Sinatra because of his affiliation with the mob.

If you survey the landscape, a large swath of poets, actors, musicians, and other artists have led self-destructive lives or have even made a practice of hurting people as a matter of rote.

Today I learned that the Michael Jackson estate is suing HBO for a documentary they did on Jackson's life.

So, do certain artists get a pass? Do we separate the tragedy of their lives from the special contributions they made?

If there is any value to the #metoo movement in this age of Trump! , it would be in sending a message to all people regardless of celebrity status or prestige that the rules civil society and corporations have for their hired workers are unilaterally applied.

It's nice to know. I cannot follow any type of sports. (just not able)

The Navy has cracked down on shenanigans since the Tailhook incident from 1991.

Trump should get a pass.

He is a "celebrity" and a politician... it is like math a negative multiplied by a negative equals a positive.

Perhaps oddly, I am reminded of one of those internet memes, where you are presented with a picture and the question how many squares do you see?

The answers come quickly... 8, 9, 16, 18, 19.... etc.

Some will argue... What 8!? There are Clearly 9!

Someone else will argue... 9? You silly dope, there are 19

But if you think about the actual question, each person is right. They are presenting the number of squares that they see.

Well... except for the dumb a** who said "19"... he counted one square twice.

If Wasserman-schultz is a celebrity. Then having her there for the hearing today. Shows me the Dems are not taking any of this stuff seriously.

It's all a pre-game show, Restoreone... nothing gets serious until we find out Mueller's results.

If were were back in the day of Tip O'Neill or even LBJ there might be a conversation between the Democrat and Republican power brokers that went something like....

D > Ok... if the Mueller report isn't too apocalyptic, "we" won't push for impeachment."

R > Alright... what do you want in return?

D > Support a bill to block this emergency declaration.... you can make it a narrow vote.

R > But that will make Trump, a lame duck.

D > True, but you don't really want him anyway.

R > Ok, but the Republican congressmen that help you pass the bill... are going to need assurances that you Dems aren't going to try to get them voted out of office next time.

D > Of course.

R > and all other battles remain on the table as we don't agree.

D > Of course

R . We don't want Biden running for President... nor Clinton.

D > Done deal.

Pause

D > But if the Mueller report is really really bad... you guys are on board with forcing T-man out.

R > We'll see.

D & R... ok, let's push that bill to block the emergency resolution.

And they all live happily ever after.

Celebrities are normal people like us. Some just are really good at a skill, many are just plain lucky.

Once we understand that and don’t put them on a pedestal above everyone else, then it’s easier to understand why they often behave like idiots.
