I'm presently living in the Leftist Liberal "Deep State" state of California.

Everyone who is legally registered is automatically registered for mail-in voting. You can either mail it in, drop it off, or go vote in person. The Calf. system is pretty cool. You only get one mail in ballot. The tracking of the voting is pretty high tech.

If you try to vote twice, you will have committed a felony and the authorities will come and arrest you.

Meanwhile, Florida keeps texting me and sending me letters telling me that my voter registration in Florida is not up to date.

Of course, as stupid and Florida can be... and as f***ed up as voting is in Florida... they are actually pretty good at catching people who try to vote more than once. They even caught a guy from some place like Michigan (or maybe it was Connecticut) who voted in person in his state of residence, but also tried to vote by absentee ballot in Florida.

Anyway... no one has sent me any absentee ballot applications... its disappointing... I was hoping to register Lindsay Graham as a California resident, then "whistle blow" it to the WSJ... oh well... "best laid plans..."

Pointless in many ways. Looking in on the US I can't really make much sense of the constant battles between Senate, The House of Representatives, Congress, the Surpreme Court and President....all apparently "controlled" by opposing factions. I thought the unwritten UK Constitution took some understanding!

But what it comes down to, at least as I see it, is that to respect those in the past who have sacrificed so much to extend the franchise in so many countries our right to vote should be used. And it is a question of choosing what we consider is the BEST option, not the ideal.

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.
