great map game,
considering how influential these areas are in today's politics i think we should really know were these countries are and who they border.

i admit i have not done half as well as I'd of liked or expected to do,
but i learnt a lot just from figuring it out.

recommend you do the same.

I thought I was pretty good at geography, but I must also admit that I had a hard time with all of the countries ending in with "-stan", except for Pakistan, I got that right. And I screwed up the African countries, although I got the easy ones, like Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Algeria correct.

I did fine getting all the sovereign nations that the Bush presidents have invaded or plan to bomb, too. And I knew Cyprus, because they sent me there as a UN soldier in 74 and that's where my wife grew up. Of course, I knew Lebanon, Israel, Syria, too, because I've taken the ferry there from Cyprus in my younger days, too.

Facebook has a pretty good geography game and I play that against my kids who have Facebook accounts.

I always beat 'em because I'm older and been around longer, that's all. Age and treachery will always win out over youth and inexperience, I once heard.

You know, I'd love to travel to some of these places but my ancestors came from the land of ice and snow, populated by moose and reindeer and I don't have much trouble staying warm. I run across an icy driveway in my bare feet and chop a hole in the lake and jump in after a trip to the sauna.

But the Middle East is soooooo damned HOT!!!! A trip to Yemen or Qatar would probably kill me.

That's too easy for me! However I can never finish a game like that on the
whole African continent.
