After refusing to go to the cinema to see sex and the city so many times, I actually watched it at home the other night. I now see why I avoided watching it, I really didn't enjoy it and it was on for way too long.

I didn't think I would like it but how everyone went on about it I expected it to be better than it actually was.

What film has disappointed you?

I felt exactly the same about The Dark Knight...
Everyone was raving, "it's the best film I've EVER seen"
But I thought it really did not live up to the hype at all...
Despite being directed by my favorite director, and starring my favorite actor (Bale)

I thought it was ok? I thought The cast was really well built. Heath Ledger did a great job, as did Christian Bale and Michael Cane

Usually it is the overly hyped romantic comedies that aren't very good. The ones where less money was spent to make them, are generally better, imho.

These are very bad rentals, and if I see them on tv, I change the channel:

Along Came Polly
Battlefield Earth
Glitter
Speed II
You've Got Mail

Those are off the top of my head but I know there are tons more

Oh sure, Bale and Cane always do well, and Heath Ledger was amazing. Morgan Freeman is starting to annoy me, with how many movies he's doing these days...but otherwise, perfect cast.

Still a bit of a messy plot though...

Very true. I didn't get the bit where he said that his dad thought he didn't smile enough, so cut him, and then he also said that his gf was somehow deformed, and so cut himself, to make her feel better. That bit confused me
