I am drinking my first Diet Coke in a while.

I usually drink Diet Pepsi (or one of its flavors) when I drink soda, because Pepsi products are always on sale where I shop.

But damn. This is way better than any Diet Pepsi.

I used to swear not to drink the stuff. I hated (hated, hated, hated) it.

But I just love soda too much. I wanted to cut the calories from soda out of my diet, because they often added up to 500 or more a day. I tried water. Juice was a no-go because it's basically sugar water and has about as many calories as soda. Tea and coffee? With lunch and dinner? I don't think so.

So, water was pretty much the only option and I just don't like water all that much. I drink it while/after working out and on and off throughout the day, but I missed the taste of soda.

I started drinking the diet stuff. It was pretty tough at first, but after a couple of weeks it's all good. Now it just tastes like soda.

diet stuff sucks

Diet stuff and sugar free stuff are usually worse than the original flavoured beverage because they add artificial sugar or aspartame or something similar. Plus they usually taste awful compared to the other flavors.

You'll have a tough time convincing me that aspartame is worse for my health than a few cups of extra sugar.

Fruit juice has about as much sugar as the average soft drink.

Eat your fruits, don't drink them

but it's also artificial sugar, so artificial or natural? I would pick natural but you can chose which ever.

yeah smoothies are really nice
but smoothies cost too much, even if you do make them yourself.

plus i can't help but feel smoothies are sortive wastefull. 3-5 pieces of fruit to make one 180ml carton.

You will get alot more from fruit juice then from diet soft drinks...
for instance..

# Orange ? The juice with the highest amount of vitamin C and potassium and a good source of folate and thiamin. It also contains cancer-fighting phytochemicals.

# Grapefruit ? The juice with the second highest amount of vitamin C.

# Apricot Nectar ? This juice is high in vitamin A and contains a small amount of iron and zinc.

# Prune ? The juice highest in iron, zinc, fiber and niacin.

# White Grape ? A juice high in vitamin C, and the best juice for healing the intestines.

# Apple ? This juice has no nutritional advantage over other juices, but is good for flavoring water because it dilutes well.

Your average apple has about 75 calories, 16g of sugar, and 4g of fiber.

Your average glass of apple juice has about 200 calories, 50g of sugar, and 0g of fiber.
