This is my point about the Tanakh; notice the repetitive story lines? Notice how certain characters in the stories do the same thing or similar things? Notice how even groups of people seem to do the same things?

What if these are reincarnated souls repeating their patterns?

Watching one of those science shows, something made complete sense.

Evolution would not have happened without cycles. (at least not as efficiently)
If everything were static, there would be no need or impetus to evolve.
If everything were chaotic and unpredictable there would be no way to be prepared for "the next time"
(I'm simplifying it to the extreme)

So cycles and repeating patterns are built into us.

And maybe not just from a physical POV, but also at a deeper, metaphysical level.

So yes, I can see spirits coming back and doing essentially the same thing. On purpose, by nature / "habit" ... who knows.

Or.... what if "it" is stories that use standard mythological motifs, and thus seem to be reincarnated souls but is really just repeating story lines...

Example: The Romeo & Juliet theme of a guy from one side falling for a girl from the other side, and their love leading to tragedy... the variations ranging (with some periodic plot changes from betrayal to intrigue to... etc...) from Samson & Delilah to West Side Story... and many stories and myths in between....

The Hero with a Thousand Faces - Joseph Campbell.

if you look this on every day routine back then with people in that time. your daily routine like anybody else's routine these days. it probably look more repetition than something that new to you today.

What if that was the point; the reason the Jews wrote down the stories? So they would have warning of what was happening and be able to find those they had written the stories about?

What about the stories written down by others (i.e. non-Jews)?

Many of those stories being essentially the same, but clearly predating the stories of the Jews... what was the point of those stories

Honestly, I am not at all certain what you mean by this statement: So they would have warning of what was happening and be able to find those they had written the stories about.

A warning of what was happening?

So they could find whose they wrote the stories about?

I mean, these stories are written as if they had happened in the past... but were, of course, mythology.

before the bible, why did the cultures leave behind stories and culture items to bury and found later in time.

maybe simply, the cultures back then, before Christ, left artifacts behind because simply the fact that they EXISTED!!

All this is true. I think we could also say they would really hate the Jews. Like the Egyptians, Babylonians, Romans, Roman Catholic Church, Islam and the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany.

I'm guessing this is a history topic, so...

Egyptians... did they "hate" the jews or subjugate the Israelite tribes as they subjugated all they conquered?

Babylonians... did they "hate" the jews or subjugate the Israelite tribes as they subjugated all they conquered?

Romans... did they "hate" the jews or subjugate the Israelite tribes as they subjugated all they conquered?

Roman Catholic Church... Yep... they pretty much hated everyone that was not one of them.

Islam... Hmmm... is that a mutual hate thing...?

the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany... Yes, they hated Jews.

What if they were all the same people? I mean the same group of people at different points in time, running nations, playing god and building empires?

The rulers are being reincarnated into rulers again and again and again... and the non-rulers are always reincarnated as non-rulers... kind of a cosmic cast system.

OR

Only the rulers get reincarnated, and the rest of us only get one life.

OR

Maybe this is all one big video game being played by someone... who is part of a bigger video game being played by someone... who is part of an even bigger video game being played by someone... infinity...

OR

Maybe "this" is life, and that is all there is... live a while... then die... end of story...

Out of the listed groups, how many of them taught or teach reincarnation to their mass following? ( that is opposed to their priests or ardent adherents/)

logically, with reincarnation is true, there should be a second coming of jesus. when is the question or has the second coming of jesus already been here?

chaski - I think like hilter in sense of anti Christ. pretty much any tyrants or dictators that in history would fit the bill. I think heard that second coming of Christ was suppose a form of general or sorts, which fit bozo or anyone with power in history.
