I went out for drinks with some friends last night and one of my friends (who I don't actually know that well) bought me like 3 glasses of wine

Why don't you agree to meet him at church on Sunday, and when the worship service is finished you can hang about for a cup of tea afterwards and then possibly go for some prayer and Scripture study afterwards?

A good worship service can get one quite hungry for the Word. You might even end up suggesting that you skip the cup of tea and get straight into the Word and prayer.

Maybe you could fast together until the next church meeting.
