It could also be that they were racing the other pharms for first-to-market, volume supply Ri$k / Reward stuff.

Though I think Moderna's is better in the sense of handling requirements.

Yes, that cold storage is a logistical clusterf*** waiting to happen.

Yeah, bigger risk bigger rewards sometimes. And really pandemic probably not the best time to pay it super safe when that also costs lives. It really is a s***ty balance.

This is what Really pisses me off!!
(The article starts with a local example)

An October report by the SBA’s inspector general found billions of dollars in potentially fraudulent loans were disbursed under the Economy Injury Disaster Loan program.
...
“They (SBA) got rid of a lot of checks and balances within the agency that make sure the loans go to real businesses and businesses that need them."

Did they get rid of them wholesale? Or is it just certain locations/offices?

The SBA should know by now PEOPLE CHEAT!

Now we have to shovel how much more money to lawyers and whatnot to track down and deal with the fraud.

All the while the innocent attempts get denied, or "too late".

f*** YOU!!!
You either parrot the trumpsterf***s message of denial and lies or stand silently by, then the f***wad elitist you are jumps to the front of the line to get your jab.

You're practically a ghost for the past 9 months, pop up occasionally feigning support for the s***head in charge, and then there you are getting a vax.

And from the annals of No s*** Sherlock
... aka Are You Really Surprised?

At a number of concierge medical practices in Southern California, doctors say they've received calls from their well-off clients asking if they can have early access to the extremely limited supply of vaccine doses in exchange for a financial contribution to a hospital or charity.

Dr. Jeff Toll, whose boutique internal medicine practice has admitting privileges at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said one patient offered to donate $25,000 to the hospital in exchange for an early shot of the vaccine. Toll's practice services a well-heeled clientele that includes chief executives and entertainment figures, but the doctor said he is telling his patients they too must wait as the first round of vaccines are distributed to those most in need of protection.

I've been reading about the Spanish Flu 1918 Pandemic.

At the time the U.S. Government censored reporting of just how bad the pandemic was... they didn't want people to panic.

Yes, it was called the Spanish flu simply because Spain, not being involved in WW1, had no recent history of propaganda and suppression of truth as had the warring nations and therefore news from there flowed freely. I think royalty got it.....which is always more newsworthy than some common or garden variety of the human species.

Over here, now that the Oxford Vaccine is here, the roll out of the previous one is being affected. Logistically, the first is more of a problem regarding storage. So our experts are now telling us that the first dose is VERY effective, unlike a few weeks ago when the second dose after three weeks was crucial. Twelve weeks is now perfectly OK.

Dear old Margaret Keenan, star of the show a few weeks ago as the very first recipient, is now probably a bit confused. Now the first recipient of the new Oxford vaccine fills our TV screens. Hurrah hurrah!!

They're talking about either cutting the first dose in half, or waiting 12 weeks for the second dose over here too.
Trying to speed up the distribution.

I had the impression that it was getting the jabs to the people was the bottleneck, not the quantity supply itself.
... except for the jerkoff that purposely wasted 500 doses.

Yes... so far in the book I'm reading, the "Spanish Flu" did not come from Spain. There are a variety of theories on where it came from, but Spain is pretty much accepted as not the place.

in fact, the 1st reported case was likely in some place like Kansas USA.

The dear old whiffler Boris Johnson (Whiffle - 17th century - to waver indecisively over something, or trifle with your work rather than get down to it) announces early monday morning that schools should open as normal, announces monday evening that they must stay closed. Keir Starmer, leader of the opposition, calls at the weekend for a complete lockdown but this ignored by Boris, then he announces one. "We are all in this together" he cries in his best Churchillian tone - this as his dad continues to flout the rules and another minister travels between tiers thus also breaking the rules.

All par for the course.

Thank heavens, as one of his ministers has said, that Boris is "ahead of the curve".

Speaking as an evil, deep state, pinko-fag leftist socialist (don't the last two words mean the same thing...??) I would like to put it on the record that I have NEVER worn pink socks.

Well.... not since I was about 6 but that doesn't count because my mum would have bought them for me and if mum said "Jenny, you must put on your pink socks today", I would have said "Yes mummy" and done as I was told like the sugar and spice, little goody two-shoes I was back then*..... and actually, at that age, girls are allowed the occasional fashion faux-pas if something is either a) shiny, b) pretty, or c) pink. Or even d) all three.

So there. Pigs to you.

* Hard to believe I know, but that child really did once exist.
