Tonight, the Auburn Tigers (SEC) play the Oregon Ducks (Pac-10) in the Tostitos BCS bowl (national championship).

Around the internet, I keep seeing things like "Oregon is not going to know what hit them...they can't keep up with the 'Big Boys'"

They're all playing the same game...why in the world would an entire conference be better than another? I'm truly baffled by this.

Conference pride.

Conference pride.

But everybody seems to say that about the Pac-10 conference. Like we're some sort of PeeWee football league that should never be in contention for the National Championship...even though, statistically, they should have been there several times.

Well, right now, neither team is playing like they want to win...turn overs galore!

I know. I usually take that as an indication that they're pretty evenly matched.

Of course, someone's bound to say that Auburn just wasn't playing at their best.

Auburn has been known this year to be a second half team...coming back big time...

Yeah...we'll just have to see. As long as Oregon doesn't get completely creamed, I'll be happy. Heck, I'm happy that they've gotten the chance to be the national champions. The scoring system up until now didn't even put Pac-10 teams into contention and that just wasn't fair. This is at least fair.

I'm talking about the two playing tonight...for the championship...Auburn should be sitting at #3...TCU clearly has a superior team to them...

OOOOOHHHH I thought you meant the game that was previously played, Oregon State vs TCU. But you meant UofO and TCU instead of UofO and Auburn.

I'm easily confused.

I'm gonna have to go now. We'll talk tomorrow...after Oregon beats Auburn.

And I guess tomorrow, we'll see if I have to eat those words.

Later.

Yeah so...Ducks lost. Guess I better eat my words.

The guy conducting the interview on the field afterwards was so condescending. He said something about Auburn's defense holding Oregon to 'only 19 points'. Funny, because up until 2 seconds before the game was over...Auburn had 'only 19 points' too!

Regardless, Oregon got to the championship game and they proved that they deserved to be there.
