Eric Idle has actually been the highlight so far.
that Freddie Mercury, a man who's been dead for 20 odd years, got the crowd going more than anyone who is actually there speaks volumes.
I don't know about that being a fact
. More of an opinion
of yours, I think.
OK... well.... London has done its thing. Let's see how Glasgow does with the Commonwealth Games, eh..?
Loved the Spice Girls. They've all put on a little weight (except for Victoria Beckham) but that's to be expected. Loved them, loved them, loved them.
Other class acts... Darcey Bussell and the London Festival Ballet. She retired nearly three years ago and came back specially for this. She's still in shape and still has immaculate line and poise. Sheer class.
Eric Idle singing ALOTBSOL, especially the dancing Romans. I wonder if Biggus d***us was amongst them. And of course, Imagine. No mere words of mine could do justice to that.
But the whole thing was excellent. I enjoyed it from start to finish and the special appreciation shown to the Games Makers was as touching as it was deserved. They did such a fantastic job, every one of them.
