Anyone got any ideas? I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend and some of next weekend clearing our garden of weeds and overgrown bushes. It's gotten so bad, you can't tell which is which and some things are as high as 5 feet! I was spurred to do it because everything has grown 200% in the last month, thanks to the good weather, and it was starting to look embarrassing lol.

I want to put in some nice plants that require minimal effort and that can last all year, but I don't want to spend a lot. It's rented accommodation and our landlord is a bit cheap lol. The absolute max I want to spend is £100 (and that's pushing it a bit lol). It's a pretty big garden. I'd say maybe 20 x 8.

There is absolutely nothing that you can get for that amount that will look nice, last all year and fill that much space for the money you want to spend.

let the weeds grow, and buy a pygmy goat.

I'm sure a goat will cost more than £100 lol. I don't want to fill up the entire space. I'll probably space things out a bit, just want to add some colour to the place so that our house stops letting the street down lol.

Homebase are doing plants for silly prices, like 10p a plant.

Honeysuckle is a good all rounder. Lavatera grows really fast but you have HAVE to cut it right back every winter or it will take over your garden completely. Ceanothus takes no effort at all.

Strawberries are very easy to grow and will run over a huge area.

Sunflowers are awesome and every year you can take the seeds and plant more and more.

Rosemary and basil are handy to have in the garden too for cooking.

I reckon you could get all of those for under £100

I just tried to plant an azalea, I found a nice big one for only $4! It never bloomed or flourished. I'm not sure why, my mom said it might need a special soil...anyone know anything about that?
