I started to learn to play the trombone when I was about 10 but had to give up on it due to funding.

I went to two carol concerts last week, both by brass bands and it made me wish I could play something.

Anyway, can you play a musical instrument, and what is it?

I tried learning guitar when I was a kid but I was too all over the place. I would love to learn the drums, but as an adult that seems tough!

I can play the triangle!

I used to play the piano and the saxophone.

Oh and as a kid, I learned the recorder, like every American child should! lol

I think every child, at some point in their life, had a lesson in playing the recorder

I think the question should be what instrument are you functionally proficient in.

I can "play" just about everything out there. But I am OK on the Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar, Bass, One handed keyboard (nothing sexual for you pervy girls ), Ocarinas, recorders, drum set-ish. Used to be OK with the trumpet and trombone but Haven't had one for over 16 years now. I bet I could still play simple things on them.

I was at one point very proficient at playing the cat.

for many years every second that I did not have to be doing something else I played my guitar. Many hours every day. Then I stroked out. It is very difficult to play guitar with only one hand and I found that I had a whole lot of extra time on my hands. I have a small keyboard now but the sounds I make with it are rather mechanical. alas....

Anyway, I was teaching my young nephew to play guitar and he had just finished a rather good rendition of twinkle twinkle little star. He asked me when he would learn to play. I told him that he might get better at it but he was already a guitar player. He is now in a band playing what he claims is music.

I can still play Mary had a Little Lamb on a recorder.
With either one hand or two, different octaves?

I've actually never "played" a recorder.

Fiddled around a bit with flute, trumpet, guitar, & percussion instruments. Otherwise, I can play sax, piano, & clarinet. Guess I did well enough since I won some awards and landed a few music scholarships to university.

I play the flute and piccolo and being solo chair, I'd say makes me proficient. I'm now tackling the piano.
