Camping Buddies

Okay, So I am getting divorced and just moved back to my home town of Kalamazoo. I am a huge avid camper and camping season is coming up, but as much fun as it is to camp by myself I would love to find some camping buddies.

So question is, Where is a safe place to find people to hang out with when you are new to an area??

Also, if you were new what would you do to find Real World people to hang out with?

IDK, I thought maybe I should check around on the Geocaching forums maybe they got a few campers there lol

I'm not familiar with the camping in Michigan, but I know that the Upper Peninsula seems to be a tourist draw. If not up here, look up the local national parks and see which offer camping areas and then google them to see if they look nice

Oh I know where to camp. Its finding people to camp with that I am looking into.

I'm a mountain camper myself...and sadly, there aren't many of those around in the midwest

all shacked up in a little tent with a randy hottie....not sure camping is for me

But the camping in Colorado is stunning isn't it. Lower Ohio and Tennesse are also fantastic. I love Michigan, but we are lacking mountains.

Its probably isn't, I mean that sure sounds like torture.
