The day it came out i was listening to a debate on the radio about it. A lot of older people are really spooked by it. Makes me wonder what they all get up to when i am at work really.

I really don't see why people are making such a fuss!!! It's a few photos, if you're embarrassed about a photo which may have been taken of you, you probably shouldn't have been doing whatever it was you were doing!

JMO linked me to a photo that he'd found of a woman who was rollerblading and had just fallen flat on her face!

It's a joke though - it's been in the US for ages; they bring it here and within a week or two (?) they're talking about shutting it down. Typical British-ness!

Apparently, there's also one of a woman trying to escape her violent partner. She moved out of her old area and Google got a pic of her in the new one But I'm wondering what are the odds of that person finding her, esp if they don't know what area it is?

It's just unfortunate if things like that happen, Google have said that they will remove images if it is requested.

Exactly Also, if I was trying to escape a violent partner, I'd have a total makeover so they wouldn't recognise me anyway!

Most people feel that way, I'm sure, but there's always a few out there who want to ruin it for the rest of us!

I think some people have a fear the view they are seeing is live.
Most shots are actually about 3 years old - as I understand it.
Still, for the un-internet-initiated, I can understand the concern.

To be honest, I've only been on there once and that was to see if there was anything in my area.

There hasn't

Saying that, my area's quite boring
