Bulbs!

I'm having a terrible time working out which way up certain bulbs go. These are not autumn-planted for spring bulbs, but bulbs I can plant now. The pointy bit or the round-bumbed bit. Please help me before I bury myself in despair.

think oinion, there should be a flat round part at the bottom of every bulb. On an onion the root would grow from this and on a bulb the same happens. Or garlic is the same. The fattest part is the bottom. SO if you was planting a clove of garlic you would always have the pointed side up towards the sun.
