Reaction As Britons Warned They May No Longer Be Able To Use E Gates

One of the privileges of being an EU member state is that EU nationals can pass freely between member states. The gates that have, since their inception, allowed Britons to pass through passport controls without checks will be closed to us from January 1 if a no deal Brexit occurs.

It's quite simple. If you're not a member of the club, you don't get the benefits of membership.

Yesterday, Boris Johnson warned that this is becoming increasingly likely and it has produced reaction across the country.

It shouldn't surprise anybody. Remainers (now rejoiners) warned at the time that this would happen but our warnings were dismissed as "Project Fear". We were told "The EU won't close the gates. They need British tourism too much."

It is looking increasingly likely that they will do just that. Cue howls of outrage.

The EU offers a privilege for members. This is a benefit of membership. Leave the club, you lose the privilege. It's really that simple.

Brexiters have never understood this.

Yes, the attitude has seemed to be:- we have chucked in our membership of the Golf Club, the fee is too high. NOW we shall dictate when we will come into the bar for discounted drinks and when we access the course for a free round.
