Boy scouts allow transgender members

OK, good for them for opening the doors a little wider.

... However, my question is to this:

It comes a few months after an 8-year-old Cub Scout in New Jersey accused the organization of expelling him for being transgender.

I actually have two questions:
1) Is an 8-year-old old enough to fully know what "transgender" is?
It's not just "liking boy stuff". What was he taught?

which leads to #2) What are the various definitions? I don't think everyone is reading from the same dictionary. (that could be said for many topics)
Is "Transgender" now the general term? (aka LGBT, was "Gay", but now that's un-pc ... I think)...

And there are many different aspects - physical, physiological, psychological,
(believe it or not, I hit both of those without spellcheck!)
social ...ect And in many cases I'm sure is a combination...

Call me ignorant, but I'm just trying to pay attention, and I just get more confused....

The kids may learn for themselves what "those people" are like - despite what their parents have taught them.

I think that America find change, in sense, of grow up, not be prejudice.

boy scouts of America is accept boys that are different. why not?

this happen in cub scouts of America, not that many boys would mind. of course, both scouts would have problems with parents that boys in both scouts.

I can see that both scouts, the boys would tease the boys. but that more or less normal at their ages.

the parents need grow up, like America have to.

From what I understand the kids know pretty quick that something is off. Kinda like the gay kids who know from an early age that they aren't attracted to the opposite gender.

Why can't they just create a separate scouts organisation for trans scouts? I mean, considering there are scouts for girls... Shouldn't it come as no surprise?

In all honesty probably because the leaders of the Boy Scouts wanted to actively keep women out because of sexism.

I'm not aware that they do.

I actually don't have a problem with separate entities for boys and girls - nor do I have a problem with one that would be inclusive of both boys and girls.

The trans community is already marginalized enough. Additionally statistically, the trans community doesn't have enough population density to support its own group. Nor should they have to. They have a gender - regardless if society got it right or wrong.

Please show me a youtube video that states the reason Girl Scouts keep men out is because of sexism.

... don't worry, I won't watch it anyways because if you do find something out there, I'm sure it misconstrues the subject and makes grand generalizations about what everybody else thinks.
