So who should be the next Bond?

At the moment the front runners are reported to be James Norton and Aidan Turner. My preference would be for the latter.

Aidan Turner , I have seen him before. I think both too play for the role, I think someone who between 35 to 45 or older, what they are looking to play bond.

maybe two actors, were actually ask by the producers of bond to play bond.

not the 15 actors were supposed been last winter. but actually, two out of fifteen actors were actually asked by the producers.

The bizarre thing was that George Lasenby's agent talked him out of signing on for any more Bond films, telling his client that the 'franchise' was dead!

I read about awhile back to. I think George maybe one or two bond films maybe? he could be in. I think fans would want someone else to play bond.

I never thought he really fit the bill of bond, when I saw on theater's screen, when I was teenager.

George didn't look right on film, and the movie was ok. I don't sean could have done any better George. the storyline was weak.

Going by the books Timothy Dalton was physically the closest to how Bond is described.

you are about Dalton, if Dalton was a very close friend of pierce, timothy doing more bonds at the close friend.

Dalton made two bonds films, until he quit. Dalton want to play the role until pierce's " Remington steele " was canceled, then pierce could take the role.

nbc won't let pierce make any bonds movies, because they think they he might hurt on the set of bonds. pierce got really burned by the producers of " steele " at that time. they were going to take him to court or sued him for a breach of contract. if he did any bond movie, during the run of the show.

two actors from England. I am not familiar with james Norton or his works.

but I am familiar with him in the original version of ' being human " not usa version. he was pretty good playing " Mitchell ".

he would he could be a good be the next bond. I think they two actor look to young for bond.

sean at 32, looked right for bond in " dr. no ". he looks like in 40's, in the movie.

There is a lot of popular opinion here in Britland for Idris Elba to become the first black Bond. I think he'd do a good job.

As for George Lazenby.... he was only contracted to make one movie while Sean Connery was away making The Hill.

Connery made The Hill because he was contractually obliged to make one more film for his previous studio. The studio (can't remember which one) had originally been prepared to drop Connery's contract but as his popularity grew with the Bond role, they dusted it off and decided to invoke it after all.

In my opinion, Lazenby made a pretty good fist of the part, although for me, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is mostly worth watching for the yummy Diana Rigg (and a young Joanna Lumley, making one of her first screen appearances).

As for the next Bond.... well, whoever gets the part will have to be able to work with increasingly fatuous storylines, rubbish scripts and repetitive, monotonously drawn out action scenes...... you know.... the sort of thing that has made Bond so popular all this time.

I really rate Idris Elba but he should not be considered for the role of Bond. Bond is one of the most famous fictional characters of the last 100 years and his description is given a number of times in Ian Flemings books. The actor who next plays Bond shouldn't be dramatically different to Flemings description.

Elba would make for a good action hero and if he wants to go down that road someone should create a unique character for him to play. If they did i would automatically be interested as i have liked the movies and shows of his that i have seen up to this point. But Idris as Bond? No.

The Best Bonds

1. Sean Connery (Scotland)
So impressed was Ian Fleming with Sean's portrayal of 007 that he made his own Bond a born and bred Scot(see the noval "OHMSS" )

2. Damiel Craig (England)
Casino Royale is IMO one of the best Bond films. Craig's Bond was closer to the Fleming vision that Moore's or Brosnan's.

3. Timothy Dalton (Cymru)
Fans of Roger Moore may not have liked the new, more serious Bond but fans of the book welcomed him with open arms.

4. Pierce Brosnan (Éire)
Not helped by increasingly silly scripts. He did well with the material he had to work with but lacked the harder, darker side portrayed by those mentioned above.

5. Roger Moore (England)
Started off ok but as time went on the scripts got increasingly absurd. He was 60 when he last played Bond.

6. George Lazenby (Australia)
Lazenby's manager, Ronan O'Rahilly, talked him into refusing a seven-movie contract on the grounds that the Bond character was out of touch with the times! His performance as Bond was ok but Connery was a very hard act to follow. Script wise i reckon OHMSS was one of the best Bond films.

over the years through bba America, I been watching a English actor, who is pretty good. one of the best English tv drama actor, I seen for awhile. in many ways, damn good to be the next bond.

matthew macfadyen is English and 41. he get away of the bonds, he look like what sean connery look in the early bonds in 60's. he look like office type looking person, because a typical 60's secret agent type.

remember the producers of bonds are going back with their movies. macfradyen would be perfect this role, where they are.

here is his credits.
