We all have heard people who cheat on their partners blaming the alcohol.I think it's compete bulls!£"$t! People still know what their doing when their drunk.Take for example I was very drunk on my sisters birthday and the next morning I was told about a guy who had tried to make a move on me but I turned him down saying I have a boyfriend( I didn't remember this at all).I don't accept people who use this excuse for that reason alone my boyfriend also tells his mates the same. What's your opinion on this?

Some people do drink to the point of blackout. However if they are at the point of blackout chances are they are totally incapable of sex.

As much as I love the booze, alcohol is not actually an excuse for anything. Its not an excuse to break the law, break a promise, say bad things, become aggressive, become affectionate.

The person behind the drink is still accountable and if you cannot control yourself then perhaps you should not drink.

That was a hard lesson for me to learn.

it's not an excuse but sometimes a reason. you should maybe look into addiction because your views are skewed.

I call bulls*** on that as well. Alcohol gives you courage to do the things you have been wanting to do. It doesn't put ideas in your head...it just silences the good ideas you've had.

Actually, my brother is an alcoholic. He has been for as long as I remember and he told me that upfront.
My uncle is an alcoholic, he told me that as well
My mom has taken care of many alcoholics in her lifetime and she told me that.

well that makes it more worrying that you have such a simplistic view.

It's what I was told over and over again throughout my childhood. It's what my brother told me from the other side of the table in the visiting room in prison. It's what I was told by alcoholics themselves.
I'm sorry if you see my views as too simplistic but it's what I believe based on my knowledge.

I'm not an alcoholic, but I am a drinker and I don't really see how Smallbutterflies is wrong.

There are plenty of silly things that I want to do sober that I don't actually do due to s***ting it or worrying about consequences, that I do when I've had a few drinks.

I'm fairly shy when sober, for example, and find going up to girls at parties and introducing myself difficult, a few drinks in me and I don't over-analyse and I do start to have the courage to talk to them. I usually make a complete utter fool of myself, but it certainly gives me courage.

My number one thought when drunk is 'God, can't believe I never noticed how gorgeous she is'.

My number one thought when hungover is 'Oh my God, I seriously thought she was attractive?'

When I'm drunk, I see things through a haze. I don't really see things what they look like. i think this is why that happens i've never hooked up with anyone while drunk though..I get drunk and it kills my sex drive. But my sense of humor goes off the rails apparently.

I'd have drunk sex with someone too make them happy. Otherwise it actually kills my sex drive as well.

I don't drink anymore. It's not an excuse to act stupid, IMO.
