Birds That Talk

My mother has a Macaw that talks very clearly and has an extensive voc. The only problem here is that he insults me all the time and really hurts my feelings. If I answer him back he runs back to his house (cage) and pouts.

How does it insult you, just know's choice words, does it do that to everyone, how does it tell the difference.

I expect your vocab is broader than his. Give him hell.

When it sees or smells me it says choice words like the whore's home, hi fat a** etc.

Hmm...I don't know. Ever tried to talk to your mom, either that you can always train it with positive and negative reinforcement.

At first I thought...just say it back to him but I think that would just add to the problem as he wont learn anything new.

Sure you can. It won't understand anything you actually mean, but it will be fun to do and make you feel better.

If this really bothers you, I would address it with your mom. Right now she seems like the problem, she's making fun of you along with the bird or not doing anything about it. She may not realize that she is hurting your feelings.

I would just talk to her...let her know how you feel, let her know that you feel disrespected mainly by her because she doesn't do anything about it.

Well he's trained; he only s***s in his house (cage) and my mom cleans it.
