All of a sudden I'm getting lots of "phishing" emails. You know, the ones that say they have $12.5 million they need to transfer and I'll get 60% by helping them.

So, I show the full headers, copy, paste that into an email and forward it to these two places:

@us- cert.gov">phishing-report @us- cert.gov

@antiphishing. org">reportphishing @antiphishing. org

Maybe they'll get shut down.

This is for you scammers

They won't get shut down. They're almost exclusively overseas and there's ultimately little to nothing that can be done about them.

This is from the yahoo address where i direct all spam.

Yahoo is really bad with the whole spam filter thing. Gmail and Hotmail are way better at it

That's everything that got through in a 2-month period?

Pretty good if you ask me, especially since almost half of the emails there aren't spam.

Suppose but compared to Gmail and Hotmail thats a lot. (btw thats the normal inbox not the spam inbox)
Theres also the fact i barely use yahoo for anything and just put things like CNet there because i know they are going to keep sending me pointless updates.

ever heard of Mailwasher? It works with your e-mail client. you can put a check in every spam you get & then you will not receive any. Mailwasher blocks everything you don't want downloaded into your main e-mail box. you can actually read what is on your server before you download it. so you don't have to download every thing on your server, just put a checkmark in delete, then click process mail & your outlook express or whatever popsup with only the mail you want. the checkmark ones will not download, they delete by themselves.
Mailwasher is a must have program. It's from Firetrust & you can find it by typing in Mailwasher in Google. I don't want to use the main linx as I just joined here.

Hope this helps
