"Texas election code ?192.031 requires that the "written certification" of the "party?s nominees" be delivered "before 5 p.m. of the 70th day before election day." Because neither candidate had been nominated by the official filing deadline, the Barr campaign argues it was impossible for the candidates to file under state law."

Surely we can agree that this lawsuit has absolutely no chance of succeeding.

I bet that we can also agree that, if the Libertarian party had missed this deadline, Texas would have no problem prohibiting Barr from being on the ballot.

(Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate for President)

It said that Barr was holding a press conference this Thursday at the court house and the article was written the 17th (wed). So it would have been yesterday?

well they would both lose texas but the republicans always win texas so it wouldn't make a difference to Obama but to McCain it would mean the whole election.
