I've had a quick scope down the list of threads on this part of the site and it seems there is no current talk about children on here.

Are there no other mums on this site..?

Does anybody want to talk about child bearing / raising matters?

There must be many mums in the forum. Parenting usually does not come up as a topic. I do not know why. I am a dad and have experience in "raising" matters. I think that the influence of fathers is very important in child raising. And to that end I offer this short story. This is not a joke. This is not supposed to make you laugh. It is a message to the importance of fathers especially to male children. This goes like this: A Pastor went to address inmates at a men's prison. As part of his sermon he asked the prisoners these two questions. First he asked all present, male inmates, who could remember their mothers to raise their hands. Almost all the inmates raised their hands. Second he asked all present, male inmates, who could remember their fathers to raise their hands. Almost none of the inmates raised their hands. Most of the men had been deprived of the male role model that is so vital for a man's development. I am sure that a father's role in raising girl children is important also. So in dividing up time for fathers to see their children, I believe that every other weekend visitation is just not enough.

Corey.

Sweet widdle puppy yes he is:

"He's cute ain't he? Only problem is, he's got a little bit a Mississippi leg hound in 'im. If the mood catches him right, he'll grab your leg and just go to town. You don't want him around if you're wearing short pants, if you know what I mean. Word of warning though, if he does lay into ya, it's best to just let 'im finish."

Wiki'd him real quick

Apparently advocated the Nazis not knowing what they truly had intended and then had to apologize afterwards. XD

Is Heidegger's "Taken-for-Granted Hammer" on the same current subject of making an squid a blacksmith in hopes that his discomfort & frustration will provoke intellectual activity?

I was going to make a comment about Final Fantasy 7, but then I saw the pic and realized it's not the same person.

I think I've also linked this game to you in the past but I would assume Heidegger to be major influence for the title "Flower, Sun, Rain"

One of the few progressive and philosophically disturbing Japanese games to get an English translation:

If a person's first assignment (at your new job) as a 'Troubleshooter' finds them jacking into the side of a trucker's head (with a laptop) and it doesn't invoke genuine autonomical questioning perhaps they would do better as a lounge singer at Chuck E Cheese.

Heidegger is difficult and I do not pretend to understand anything that he wrote. His ideas on throw-ness resemble, in many ways, the doctrines of Bananaism. I do not recommend reading him but reading about him might be of some advantage.

Anyway...

The hammer is an example of his phenomenological objection to the emphasis on the primacy of the abstract present-at-hand approach (i.e. taken-for-granted everyday experience)

It has been argued that Hitler could not have come to power without Heidegger's help. And Martin never expressed any regret for is support of National Socialism. I think that he thought of himself as a philosopher king and when that did not work out he just went home.

Erimitus: No. And as far as I know it has nothing at all to do with baby rearing. And several independent studies have shown that squids make terrible blacksmiths.

What is Bananaism? I'm only coming up with folks paranoid about building energy plants too close to habitats and important resources.

So 'The Hammer in Hand' is much like myself and some religionists are saying; the default reality we are born into isn't necessarily the most practical nor does completely honoring this reality take priority?

That's what I was getting at with the out-of-place squid. We seem to all be acting on programming by ancient ignorant ancestors never trying to better our situations through better understanding or empathy.

You are to go to school to learn how to use a hammer
you then use the hammer to support a wife
who, in turn, supports a child who learns to use the hammer in your wake.
As if this is what EVERYONE is meant to do.

And yeah, off topic of baby-rearing but I took notice of the synchronicity.

Also took notice of desperation(?) when no one bothered to discuss what was going on inside their heads.

Like my partner's aunt panicking that I had no opinion about my partner being the pants-bearer in our relationship. (her eyes bugged in surprise and frustration that there was no output from me to be had).

("Don't worry, Charlie. I think I've found an angle!" )

EB: What is Bananaism?

E: Bananaism is the doctrine expounded in the magnum opus 'Thus spoke Banana'.

On Baby Rearing:

#1 Babies eat, sleep and poop; and occasionally they do all three at the same time.
