BAD TINO! :(

OK, so since I've been here I've been asking for a shortcut key to the "Post" button, such as a vBulletin-style "alt+s"

I've been consoled solely by the fact that "tab, enter" worked just as well (as long as you weren't doing a journal, in which case "tab, enter" wouldn't post.. it would erase everything. Yay for consistent interfaces.)

So, Tino, you went and broke that too!!

PLEASE GIVE US A POSTING SHORTCUT because now we have to CLICK the post button with the MOUSE all the time!!!

AND the track point on this laptop is broken, so I have to use the stupid a** mouse!!

*Hits tab 7 times....each time getting more and more frustrated...*

How lazy are we when we moan about having to move our hands slightly just to post!

keyboard shortcuts rule!
nothing wrong with using a mouse its just im not good at doing 2 or 3 things at once!

Don't get me wrong..those buttons are very useful for people that don't know how to put images or bold or italic into posts...but the placement of them is all wrong. Maybe they could go up where the smilies are. That would work very well. Then you could still hit tab and then enter to post.

Either way...EVERY TIME I have posted since those buttons have been put there...I have accidentally put the bold keys into my post. Then I have to go erase them, and then click the post.

I've always used the post button. I didn't know there was a shortcut before lol

Well, there wasn't technically a shortcut. You could just hit the Tab key, and it would bring you right to the Post, and then you could just hit Enter. So a self-made shortcut was Tab + Enter.

Now...the shortcut is Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Enter. Not much of a shortcut if you ask me.

I am all about the keyboard shortcuts. It makes it so much easier to post, and it enables you to post faster, and more.

Oh, I'm not knocking the buttons. The buttons are good for what they are intended. (I most likely won't use them, just because I am so used to typing out the BBCode anyway...but some people will be able to make so really good use of them! )

I am just saying that we need a shortcut for posting. And now we don't have one. And it is very sad.

I never liked keyboaurd short cuts much because I would always forget about them lol. Im very mouse dependent lol

I was too...until I learned the shortcuts and now life is much easier..

Well...it was....

There is now an ALT-s shortcut for submitting your post.

A few notes about browser compatibility:

1. In Opera, you need to press alt-shift-s
2. In Firefox v1.5 it does not seem to work at all. I believe this is due to a bug in firefox.
3. It seems to work fine in IE using only alt-s

PS: in opera, a simple 'tab space' works fine

w00t!! Well, it sucks to be Jonnythan and everyone else who uses Firefox....but I use IE...so I'm doing a little happy dance!!!
