As baby Peters mother has already served nearly 1 year in prison on remmand awaiting her trial and sentencing, she will be eligible to apply for parole in 4 years time.
With good behaviour and showing the panel that she has redeemed herself she could well be released to start a new life with a new identity and even start a new family, if not in the UK, abroad.
People are sentenced for longer for robbery or money related crimes.
Of course this woman will go to church in prison, be a "good girl" and do what she is advised to do in preparation for her release.
The guards will help her fill in the forms, she will get protection & free legal aid at the tax payers expense.
The killer Mary Bell and Maxine Carr were released the same way...

I can't believe that. She needs to be under the jail. Oh that makes me mad.

why not just post this on the thread you already posted about baby P, seriously its still on the front page just change the title.

and also come back to us, when she does get released in 4 years time, but don't hold your breath its incredibly unlikely.

Well there is outrage in the media as the lodger Owen could be released in 12 months and the stepfather in 8 years.
The maximum they each COULD have recieved was 14 years...but they didnt.
They have no right to keep her in jail for a life sentence (10yrs) if she did not recieve a life sentence.
It is LIKELY she will be released well before many would have thought right, which is WHY there is an outcry about this.

The sentencing laws of this country.
Which is why monsters like Maxine Carr are now walking down their local high street again...and where Paedophiles can expect just weeks in jail in many instances!

MAxine Carr was not involved either directly or indirectly in the murder of Holly and Jessica. She couldn't have been. She was at her mother's house which is what she lied about. She was guilty of perverting the course of justice. Nothing else.

They have already served quite a bit of time. As your link says...the stepfather could apply in 10 years..but thats not taking into account time spent and good behaviour.. Usually concurrant sentences are served at the same time. Not on top of each other.

Maxine Carr knew about the murders as she had conversations with Huntley regarding disposing of the bodies. Baby P,s mother was not charged with murder either

I'd never heard whether or not they were concurrent. However, what are the chances he'd get early parole considering the wide-spread shock and condemnation at his crimes. Maxine Carr served her time. LEt others serve theirs.

Yeah, because she didn't actively take part in the killing, se merely conspired to protect his killers. Same as Maxine Carr. That is not murder by any legal definition.
