So The US is taking the state of Arizona to court over their intense immigration law.

On which side of the fence do you stand? (no pun intended)

I'm on the same side as the Constitution - the Constitution that says I have the right to be safe from unreasonable searches.

Kristy, I am really on the fence. No pun intended. I'm still thinking about my answer.

In all honesty though, I think that if someone wants to enter this country they should do it legally, so I am siding with Arizona. I think Arizona has more balls than the rest of the country. We don't let anyone else in illegally without following due process. And since Arizona has a big problem with illegals coming in, I guess they are trying to do what they gotta do.

Honestly, if you are not a citizen of this country, I don't think Constitutional rights should apply to you; plain and simple.

Therefore, I believe the law is just.

I don't have a problem with ANYONE coming into the country.
I really don't.

Arizona is, IMO, in the right, and the DoJ has their collective head up their collective ass.

I agree young lady. Why should mexico get a better seat than other citizens of countries who are doing all they can to come over legally?

Call me an a*****e whomever wants, but I am a firm believer in obeying the laws of my land. There are some laws I don't agree with, but I still obey them. ANd some might say, well it's not their land why do they have to obey it, well in my opinion, you sit at someone's house for dinner you abide by their rules or get out and don't eat there.

Basically, Arizona is forcing anyone who can't provide papers proving they're a legal citizen out of the states.

People bring up the issue of discrimination (there's a better word I jsut can't remember), but like I said, I don't believe our rights should apply to those who aren't here legally.

I wouldn't expect to go to France and have all their rights that are in their Constitution.

The problem is that the law applies to citizens. The law has then stop and search and then determine your legal status.

No, they're forcing anyone they want to provider papers proving their a citizen.

That very act is a violation of a citizen's Constitutional rights.

But then again, doesn't a state have a right to suspend certain rights when they feel citizens are in danger?

If they wanted to ask me to prove I was a citizen, I'd do whatever they asked.

They have a problem out there and they are trying to manage it. Maybe if it was being managed on a national level they wouldn't have to do this. And it is NOT really being managed on a national level.
